The Apple Blossom Awards honor early childhood teachers who educate and care for children birth to age five. Three “Teacher of the Year” Award recipients will be named at the annual Apple Blossom Awards Luncheon will be held on Saturday, April 13th from 11:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. at the Hilton Naples, located at 5111 Tamiami Trail N, Naples, FL 34103. Three awardees will be recognized: an “Infant/Toddler Teacher of the Year,” a “Preschool Teacher of the Year” and a “Public/Private Teacher of the Year”.”These three winners will receive a $500 monetary gift, a plaque, and recognition in the media. Additionally, all Apple Blossom nominees will receive a certificate and recognition at the award ceremony.
Nominees will be observed in the classroom by members of the Apple Blossom Awards Committee. Nominees are evaluated on C.L.A.S.S. based criteria.
How Can I Nominate a Teacher?
CCCR will begin accepting nomination packets on Monday, December 3, 2018. Nomination forms will be made available online on December 3, 2018. Childcare Centers in Collier County will also receive the nomination packet by mail in early December. Center Directors, parents, and colleagues are encouraged to nominate an amazing teacher. To nominate a teacher, inform the Center Director who you wish to nominate, and they will start the process for you! The completed nomination packet is due no later than 5 PM Friday, February 1, 2019.
Nominee Evaluators Needed!
Currently we are seeking Nominee Evaluators to conduct classroom visits between February and April to assess nominees who educate and care for children ages birth to five years. Nominee evaluators must have some knowledge of early childhood education, in either the classroom or as an administrator of an Early Childhood Education Program. Former preschool teachers, administrators, first grade teachers, speech therapists, or counselors who have worked with children birth to six-years-old are encouraged to volunteer. Evaluators use a C.L.A.S.S. based scoring form with criteria such as teacher sensitivity, language support, positive climate, and behavior guidance. The Apple Blossom Awards Ceremony
The annual Apple Blossom Awards Luncheon will be held on Saturday, April 13th from 11:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. at the Hilton Naples, located at 5111 Tamiami Trail N, Naples, FL 34103. In addition to the awards ceremony, the event includes lunch and a key note address by a guest speaker. Tickets are $40
