Big Impressions by Little Artists® Event Raises Record Amount for Local Children
The luncheon, which featured a live and a silent auction and took place at the Hilton Naples, raised over $150,328 through ticket sales, sponsorships and auction items, making it the most successful event since its inception in 2012. Over 200 people attended the 7th annual Big Impressions by Little Artists® event on March 9, 2018 in support of Collier Child Care Resources (CCCR). Proceeds will provide partial tuition assistance for the children of working families who cannot afford the cost of a high quality early care and education. CCCR operates four early learning programs in Collier County and serves approximately 300 children annually. Melissa Blazier and Alex Breault, served as event co-chairs. Rachel Pierce, co-anchor of NBC2 News Today, emceed the event. Rick Gallo, auctioneer, conducted the live auction.
The focus of the event is “Valuing the arts in young children’s lives.” The live and silent auction featured the artworks of children from CCCR’s programs and the original artwork of over thirty local artists. Four featured artists volunteered their time and talents to collaborate with the children in CCCR’s programs to create art pieces for the live auction. The featured artists this year were Carmelo Blandino, Juan Diaz, Mally Khorasantchi and Marcus Zotter.
Niccole Howard, Executive Director of CCCR said, “We are deeply grateful for the overwhelming support from our generous sponsors and all those who attended. The event proved to be elegant and fun and surpassed our fundraising event goal of $100,000. Our attendees provided excitement by engaging in bidding wars; artist Marcus Zotter painted live; Laura Lou Roth played the harp during the cocktail hour; and we were entertained with music from the band Mirage. Most notably, the event has evolved into an art enthusiast’s affair.”
