Collier Child Care Resources (CCCR) has received a total of $45,000 in donations from The CarMax Foundation, as of August 2018. Each year since 2013, The CarMax Foundation has generously donated $10,000 to the CCCR towards the betterment of early-education in Collier County. CarMax has also given smaller donations throughout the years, volunteered, and organized back-to-school supply drives for the early learning programs operated by the CCCR.
Since June 2018, five local CarMax employees, salesmen and managers, began volunteering with the young children of CCCR for one hour each month. CarMax coordinated to have one volunteer assist in each of the five classrooms at Child’s Path, a CCCR Early Childhood Development Center. They help children, ages one to five-years-old, with special educational and fun projects.
Niccole Howard, CCCR Executive Director, said, “The CarMax employees in Naples offer an incredible example of giving back. They don’t just come and help the children glue and paint. They laugh with children. They help the shy ones. They offer our children another adult role model and encourage them at this crucial stage in their life.”
Bill Mahoney, Location General Manager of the Naples CarMax Auto Superstore said, “Our employees are a reflection of the charitable giving beliefs of our company. They are an example of giving back to the community on a local level.”
