Dear Friends of CCCR,
At this time when the news – and our lives – are dominated by the coronavirus, I wanted to express our best wishes to you for your family’s health and wellbeing. In addition, we’d like to update you on some important news as well as let you know how Collier Child Care Resources is responding to the extreme challenges of meeting the needs of the children, parents and families we serve while keeping their health and safety at the
forefront of everything we do.
First, an announcement that we make with a mix of sadness and gratitude for nearly 20 years of extraordinary service: effective May 1, Niccole Howard has resigned as Executive Director of CCCR. Niccole is leaving the organization having made a significant contribution to our evolution. Under her leadership, our programs and services grew and became more accessible primarily to underserved children in Collier County. Niccole was
instrumental in implementing changes to improve school readiness by encouraging children’s innate ability to develop cognitive and social-emotional skills through a highly developed process of arts-based and experiential learning.
The Board of Directors will immediately begin the process of searching for a new Executive Director. In the interim, Michele Goguen, Director of Finance, and Heather Singleton, Director of Early Learning, will manage the day-to-day operations of the organization. We are very confident in our staff’s ability to make this a smooth transition for our children, teachers and families and wish Niccole the absolute best in all of her future plans and endeavors.
While three of our four centers are closed during the pandemic, a decision was made – in close consultation with local health authorities – to provide care to the children of essential, frontline workers at our Child’s Path location. Open Monday – Friday, 7:00 a.m.-5:30 p.m., teachers and staff care for the children while adhering to stringent CDC guidelines, including capping classroom capacity, maintaining continuous handwashing procedures and frequent sanitizing of contact surfaces. We are proud to make this important contribution during these unprecedented times.
Thank you for your past and continued support of our mission to enrich the lives of children in Collier County. We remain steadfast in our commitment to serving the children and families of our community.
Chairman, Board of Directors
