Supporting the professional development needs and coordinating and/or providing quality education and training will lead to positive results and ultimately increase the quality of care given to children. Our Professional Development Department offers a wide variety of trainings for early childhood educators, child care center directors and parents. In addition, we provide customized on and off site training and consultation to center and family childcare homes.

Speaker: Dr. Julia Harper, TheraPeeds Family Center
Topic: Environment, Neuroplasticity and Development- How the Parenting environment affects child development
Description: This talk focuses on the often ignored relationship between the home and classroom environment and the brain. Come learn about how these environments affect how a child’s brain develops and thus affects their function. Dr. Julia Harper will highlight these connections and offer insight into how educators and parents can effectively change the most important aspect of the child’s development, the environment in which the brain is functioning. Come SEE how your behaviors affect your child’s brain and how changing your behavior is one of the most powerful parts of supporting the child’s overall development.
